They may sound antithetical, but romance and horror are often linked in storytelling. Often it can involve a lost love, which creates the tension and the horrors. But in many tales there is an underlying love story that drives the plot.
We see such examples of Horror Love Stories in such films as Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), Candyman (1992), and more lighthearted fair and horror comedies such as Haunted Honeymoon (1986) and Warm Bodies (2013).
