A Scare Dare is a horror trope that involves a character or a group of characters who are challenged or dared to enter a scary or dangerous place, such as a haunted house, a graveyard, or a dark forest. The dare is usually motivated by curiosity, peer pressure, or a bet. The character or group may expect to find nothing but harmless fun, but they soon discover that the place is more terrifying and deadly than they imagined.
It often is a childhood scare dare, but plenty of times it can involve adults, creating a setup for a horror tale.
