H.G Wells’ The Invisible Man is a timeless classic which just so happens to be in the public domain, opening the door for a lot of adaptations by anyone who wants to take a crack at the story. Enter new movie Fear the Invisible Man, set to release on Digital, VOD, and DVD on June 13, 2023.
This upcoming indie movie appears to be a relatively close adaptation of the original Universal Monsters classic, unlike the latest adaptation by Leigh Whannell’s 2020 movie The Invisible Man which was a much more modern reinvention. While some of the digital effects may be a bit rough, overall it seems like an interesting take.
In movie Fear the Invisible Man coming from Hanover Pictures, the synopsis is such: “A young widow from Britain provides shelter for an old acquaintance from medical school who has somehow managed to render himself invisible. As his isolation intensifies and his mental state deteriorates, he devises a plan to unleash a spree of indiscriminate murder and terror throughout the city.”
The cast includes David Hayman (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas), Mark Arnold (Teen Wolf), Mhairi Calvey (Braveheart), and Mike Beckingham (Truth Seekers). Fear the Invisible Man is directed by Paul Dudbridge and written by Phillip Daay.
