Synopsis
Nekromantik 2 (1991) is a German horror film directed by Jörg Buttgereit and a sequel to his 1987 film Nekromantik. The movie stars Monika M., Mark Reeder, Beatrice Manowski, Carola Ewers, Astrid Ewers, and Eva-Maria Kurz.
The film focuses on Monika, a young woman who digs up corpses and takes them home, inspired by the exploits of a “Nekromantik” killer from the previous film. Monika lives alone and works cleaning up gore and crime scenes. At night she searches for fresh bodies to bring home for her necrophilic desires.
Monika becomes infatuated with the deceased Rob, the protagonist of the first film. She digs up his grave and dismembers his corpse to keep parts of him in her apartment. Much of the movie follows her daily life living with and engaging with Rob’s dead body, which she treats as a lover.
