The Company of Wolves (1984)

Synopsis

The movie The Company of Wolves (1984) is a British gothic fantasy horror film directed by Neil Jordan. The film is based on the short story collection “The Bloody Chamber” by Angela Carter. The story is set in a dreamlike forest where a young girl named Rosaleen, played by Sarah Patterson, lives with her family. Rosaleen is warned by her grandmother, played by Angela Lansbury, to beware of men whose eyebrows meet, as they are werewolves.

One night, Rosaleen has a disturbing dream about a pack of wolves prowling the woods below her bedroom window. The next day, she learns that her sister has been killed by wolves. Rosaleen is then visited by a handsome young man, played by Micha Bergese, who has eyebrows that meet. She is immediately suspicious of him, but is also drawn to him.

As the story progresses, Rosaleen becomes more and more entangled in a world of werewolves and dark magic. She must navigate a dangerous path through the forest to reach her grandmother’s house, where she hopes to find safety. Along the way, she encounters a number of strange and terrifying creatures, including a man with a pig’s head and a woman who transforms into a bird.
