Synopsis
The movie The First Power (1990) is a supernatural crime thriller directed by Robert Resnikoff, starring Lou Diamond Phillips, Tracy Griffith, and Jeff Kober. It follows a detective targeting a demonic serial killer who possesses people.
The movie The First Power (1990) opens with Patrick Channing, a sadistic serial killer, being sentenced to death by electric chair. However, through black magic he arranges to have his spirit transfer into the body of an innocent man before dying. Detective Russell Logan vows to prove Channing survived and bring him to justice.
As Channing possesses multiple people to continue his killing spree, Logan races to stop him. However, Channing always inhabits a new host when the old body is destroyed. Logan consults with psychics and priests to learn how to banish Channing’s demonic spirit for good. After a climactic battle, Logan overpowers Channing through sheer will and forces his spirit into hell.
