Synopsis

The movie What Lies Beneath (2000) introduces Claire and Norman Spencer, an affluent Vermont couple adjusting to life after their daughter leaves for college. Claire begins hearing voices and witnessing eerie manifestations in her house. She also suspects the ghost has some connection to the missing girl next door.
As paranormal events escalate, Claire starts to suspect her husband is hiding secrets about the house’s history. She discovers Norman had an affair with the neighbor, who mysteriously vanished a year before. Now the ghost seeks justice for her murder by driving Claire to uncover the truth.
