Filmmaker Dustin Ferguson is set to revive the 1967 cult classic horror movie Spider Baby, directed by Jack Hill. The film promises to reimagine the beloved cult classic, featuring legendary stars Sid Haig and Lon Chaney Jr., catering to a new generation who may not have seen the original. Currently in post-production, the Spider Baby remake is scheduled to premiere in October in L.A. Jack Hill, the original film’s director, serves as the Executive Producer, ensuring a respectful homage to the 1967 classic.
Beverly Washburn, known for her role as “Elizabeth” in the original Spider Baby, returns to the film in a new role. Ron Chaney, the grandson of Lon Chaney Jr., also joins the cast, paying tribute to his family’s profound legacy in the horror genre.
The creative team behind the Spider Baby remake includes Jeff Burr, renowned for his work on Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, who serves as the Creative Consultant. Other notable cast members include Brinke Stevens, famous for her role in 1982’s Slumber Party Massacre, and Robert Mukes from House of 1000 Corpses. Horror fans can look forward to experiencing this exciting reimagination of a classic when the film premieres in October.
