How to Put Nose Rings On

The process for putting on different types of nose rings can vary slightly depending on the specific type of nose ring you are wearing. Below are some general instructions for putting on three common types of nose rings: nose ring studs, nose hoops, and septum rings.

Nose Ring Studs:

  • Start by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  • Gently clean the area around your nose piercing with a saline solution or a mild soap and water.
  • Take the nose ring stud and hold it between your thumb and forefinger, with the decorative end facing outward.
  • Gently insert the straight post through the piercing hole and push it all the way through until the decorative end is flush against the outside of your nostril.
  • Once the decorative end is in place, push the small backing onto the end of the post until it is snug against your nostril. Make sure the backing is secure and will not come loose.

Nose Hoops:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  • Gently clean the area around your nose piercing with a saline solution or a mild soap and water.
  • Take the nose hoop and gently bend it open slightly.
  • Insert one end of the hoop through your piercing hole and carefully guide it through until it comes out the other side.
  • Once the hoop is in place, gently bend it back into its original shape so that it is secure and will not come loose.

Septum Rings:

  • Start by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  • Gently clean the area around your septum piercing with a saline solution or a mild soap and water.
  • Take the septum ring and gently insert one end through the piercing hole in your septum.
  • Guide the ring through until it comes out the other side.
  • Once the ring is in place, adjust it so that it sits comfortably in your septum.

It’s important to remember that when putting on any type of nose ring, you should always be gentle and take your time to ensure that you do not accidentally injure your nose or your piercing. If you experience any pain or discomfort, stop immediately and seek professional advice from a piercer or healthcare provider.
